In his jihad against Christianity Paul Bilal Williams likes to go on the twitter accounts of Christian scholars, theologians, pastors, and/or apologists in order stalk them with tweets assaulting the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. Since the best way to deal with stalkers is to give them a taste of their own medicine, I have therefore decided to make it a chief aim of mine to go after Williams until and unless he learns his lesson by stopping his harassment and stalking of my fellow Christian brothers and sisters.
In his most recent stalking spree https://bloggingtheology.net/2016/09/16/paying-the-piper/, Williams cited 1 Corinthians 15:24 to contest noted Christian scholar John Piper’s tweet that America and her presidents will be a footnote in history, whereas the kingdom of the Lord Jesus shall never end. Williams’ distorts the words of the risen Lord’s blessed Apostle in order to argue that Christ’s rule shall come to an end.
In light of this shameless and perverse manhandling of the words of Holy Scripture I am now going to teach Williams a lesson by not only refuting his claim, but by also showing how Paul’s inspired words prove that Muhammad is one of the enemies of Christ whom the risen Lord will bring (and already has brought) under his glorious feet and shall destroy with an everlasting destruction.
Christ the Eternal King!
The Hebrew Bible prophesied the coming of a Davidic King who would rule over an everlasting kingdom as the Mighty God in the flesh:
“Furthermore I tell thee that the Lord will build thee an house. And it shall come to pass, when thy days be expired that thou must go to be with thy fathers, that I will raise up thy seed after thee, which shall be of thy sons; and I will establish his kingdom. He shall build me an house, and I will stablish his throne for ever. I will be his father, and he shall be my son: and I will not take my mercy away from him, as I took it from him that was before thee: but I will settle him in mine house and in my kingdom FOR EVER: and his throne shall be established FOR EVERMORE.” 1 Chronicles 17:10b-14
“My heart is inditing a good matter: I speak of the things which I have made touching the king: my tongue is the pen of a ready write… Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: the sceptre of thy kingdom is a right sceptre. Thou lovest righteousness, and hatest wickedness: therefore God, thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.” Psalm 45:6-7
“Nevertheless the dimness shall not be such as was in her vexation, when at the first he lightly afflicted the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, and afterward did more grievously afflict her by the way of the sea, beyond Jordan, in Galilee of the nations. The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined… For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even FOR EVER. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.” Isaiah 9:1-2, 6-7
According to the inspired Christian Scriptures, Jesus is that Son of David who rules forever and ever as the divine, unique Son of God:
“Now when Jesus had heard that John was cast into prison, he departed into Galilee; and leaving Nazareth, he came and dwelt in Capernaum, which is upon the sea coast, in the borders of Zabulon and Nephthalim: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, The land of Zabulon, and the land of Nephthalim, by the way of the sea, beyond Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles; the people which sat in darkness saw great light; and to them which sat in the region and shadow of death light is sprung up.” Matthew 4:12-16
“And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth, to a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin’s name was Mary. And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women. And when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and cast in her mind what manner of salutation this should be. And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God. And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS. He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: and he shall reign over the house of Jacob FOR EVER; and of his kingdom THERE SHALL BE NO END. Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man? And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.” Luke 1:26-35
“who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high; being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they. For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son? And again, when he bringeth in the firstbegotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him. And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire. But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is FOR EVER AND EVER: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom. Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.” Hebrews 1:3-9
The OT writings also speak of a divine figure appearing in human form whom all nations must worship and whose kingdom shall never be destroyed,
“I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him. And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an EVERLASTING dominion, WHICH SHALL NOT PASS AWAY, and his kingdom that WHICH SHALL NOT BE DESTROYED.” Daniel 7:13-14
Once again, the inspired New Testament writings identify this figure as the Lord Jesus Christ since he is the divine Son of Man that rides the clouds,
“But Jesus held his peace. And the high priest answered and said unto him, I adjure thee by the living God, that thou tell us whether thou be the Christ, the Son of God. Jesus saith unto him, Thou hast said: nevertheless I say unto you, Hereafter shall ye see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.” Matthew 26:63-64
“But he, being full of the Holy Ghost, looked up stedfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and JESUS standing on the right hand of God, and said, Behold, I see the heavens opened, and THE SON OF MAN standing on the right hand of God.” Acts 7:55-56
“Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen… And I turned to see the voice that spake with me. And being turned, I saw seven golden candlesticks; and in the midst of the seven candlesticks one LIKE UNTO THE SON OF MAN, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about the paps with a golden girdle. His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire; and his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters. And he had in his right hand seven stars: and out of his mouth went a sharp twoedged sword: and his countenance was as the sun shineth in his strength. And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last: I am he that liveth, AND WAS DEAD; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.” Revelation 1:7, 12-18
“And I looked, and behold a white cloud, and upon the cloud one sat like unto the Son of man, having on his head a golden crown, and in his hand a sharp sickle. And another angel came out of the temple, crying with a loud voice to him that sat on the cloud, Thrust in thy sickle, and reap: for the time is come for thee to reap; for the harvest of the earth is ripe. And he that sat on the cloud thrust in his sickle on the earth; and the earth was reaped.” Revelation 14:14-16
And who reigns for all eternity:
“for so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the EVERLASTING KINGDOM of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.” 2 Peter 1:11
“And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and HE shall reign FOR EVER AND EVER.” Revelation 11:15
In fact, the book of Revelation expressly states that Christ will continue to occupy the same divine throne alongside his Father in the new heavens and the new earth:
“And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the THRONE of God AND OF the Lamb. In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. And there shall be no more curse: but the THRONE of God AND OF the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him: and they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their foreheads. And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever.” Revelation 22:1-5
As such, it is quite clear that both the Old and New Testaments emphatically testify that the Lord Jesus, who is the long-awaited Messiah Son of David, is an eternal King who reigns over an everlasting and indestructible kingdom.
