MUHAMMAD’S PROPHETIC PROOF: A HAIRY TUMOR

The Quran teaches that Muhammad was the seal of the prophets:

Muhammad is not the father of any of your men, but (he is) the Apostle of God, and the Seal of the Prophets: and God has full knowledge of all things. S. 33:40 Abdullah Yusuf Ali

Here’s where it gets rather astonishing. According to the so-called authentic traditions, Muhammad’s seal of prophet was actually a hairy mole on his back!

Narrated As-Saib bin Yazid … I stood behind him (i.e., Muhammad) and saw the seal of Prophethood between his shoulders, and it was like the “Zir al-Hijla” (meaning the button of a small tent, but some say “egg of a partridge.”). (Sahih al-Bukhari, Volume 1, Number 189 https://www.searchtruth.com/book_display.php?book=4&translator=1&start=0&number=189)

XIX: The seal of prophethood

  1. It is related that as-Sa’ib ibn Yazid said, “My aunt took me to the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and said, ‘Messenger of Allah, my nephew is ailing.’ So he passed his hand on my head and prayed for blessing for me. Then he did wudu’ and I drank some of his wudu’ water. Then I stood behind him and saw the seal of prophethood between his shoulders.”

Ibn ‘Ubaydullah said, “Hujla comes from the blaze of a horse between its eyes,” Ibrahim ibn Hamza said, “It was like a partridge egg.” (Aisha Bewley, The Sahih Collection of al-BukhariChapter 65. Book of Virtues)

Chapter 28: THE FACT PERTAINING TO THE SEAL OF HIS PROPHETHOOD, ITS CHARACTERISTIC FEATURE AND ITS LOCATION ON HIS BODY

Abdullah b. Sarjis reported: I saw Allah’s apostle and ate with him bread and meat, or he said Tharid (bread soaked in soup). I said to him: Did Allah’s apostle seek forgiveness for you? He said: Yes, and for you, and he then recited this verse: ‘Ask forgiveness for thy sin and for the believing men and believing women’ (xlvii 19). I then went after him and saw the Seal of Prophethood between his shoulders on the left side of his shoulders having spots on it like hairy moles.” (Sahih Muslim, Book 030, Number 5793 https://sunnah.com/muslim:2346)

As if it couldn’t get any more shocking, the ahadith claim that a particular Muslim who happened to be a physician thought that Muhammad’s mole was actually a cyst and tumor, and even offered to cut it off!

Note what the following narrations all state:

  1. It was narrated that Abu Rimthah said: I came to the Messenger of Allah and there were some people of Rabee’ah with him, disputing about a blood feud following deliberate killing. And I heard him say: “(Give to) your mother and sister and your brother, then the next closest and the next closest.” Then he looked, then he said: “Who is this with you, O Abu Rimthah?” I said: My son. He said: “He is not responsible for your sins and you are not responsible for his sins.” I looked and I saw on the cartilage of his shoulder blade something like a pigeon’s egg, and I said: Shall I treat you for it, O Messenger of Allah? For we are a family of physicians. He said: “The One Who put it there will treat it.”

It was narrated that Abu Rimthah said: I set out with my father to go to the Messenger of Allah… Then he looked at something like a sebaceous cyst between his shoulder blades and said: O Messenger of Allah, I am the best physician; shall I not treat it for you? He said: “No; its Physician is the One Who created it.”

He said: “What will you do with it?” He said: I will cut it off. He said: “You are not a physician, but you are a kind man. Its Physician is the One Who put it there.” (According to another report): “… the One Who created it.”

  1. It was narrated that Abu Rimthah at-Taymi, (from the tribe of) Taym ar-Rabaab, said: I came to the Prophet, and I had my son with me… I said to him: O Prophet of Allah, I am a physician; show me your back and if it is a sebaceous cyst I will treat it, and if it is something other than that I will tell you, for there is no man more knowledgeable about wounds or tumours than me. He said: “Its physician is Allah.”…

It was narrated that Abu Rimthah said: I came to Madinah and saw the Messenger of Allah… I said: O Messenger of Allah, I am a physician and my father was a physician; we are a family of physicians and by Allah there is nothing in the human body, sinew or bone, that we do not know about. Show me this thing that on your back and if it is a sebaceous cyst I will cut it, then I will treat it. He said: “No; its Physician is Allah.”…

So there you have it folks. One of the proofs for Muhammad being the seal of prophets was a cyst, a tumor, lodged between his shoulder blades on his back by none other than Allah himself!
