The Holy Bible is emphatically clear that Jesus is God’s unique Son who is the perfect image of God, being the exact representation of God’s infinite, uncreated Being:
“And Jesus cried out and said, ‘He who believes in Me, does not believe in Me but in Him who sent Me. He who sees Me sees the One who sent Me.’” John 12:44-45 New American Standard Bible 1995 (NASB1995)
“‘If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; from now on you know Him, and have seen Him.’ Philip said to Him, ‘Lord, show us the Father, and it is enough for us.’ Jesus said to him, ‘Have I been so long with you, and yet you have not come to know Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; how can you say, “Show us the Father”? Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father is in Me? The words that I say to you I do not speak on My own initiative, but the Father abiding in Me does His works. Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father is in Me; otherwise believe because of the works themselves.’” John 14:7-11 NASB1995
“in whose case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving so that they might not see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. For we do not preach ourselves but Christ Jesus as Lord, and ourselves as your bond-servants for Jesus’ sake. For God, who said, ‘Light shall shine out of darkness,’ is the One who has shone in our hearts to give the Light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ.” 2 Corinthians 4:4-6 NASB1995
“For He rescued us from the domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation.” Colossians 1:13-15 NASB1995
“God, after He spoke long ago to the fathers in the prophets in many portions and in many ways, in these last days has spoken to us in His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the world. And He is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature, and upholds all things by the word of His power. When He had made purification of sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high,” Hebrews 1:1-3 NASB1995
As such, Jesus is exactly like God and perfectly expresses the very nature and character of his Father, which is why all must come to him to know who God truly is and what he is like:
“All things have been handed over to Me by My Father; and no one knows the Son except the Father; nor does anyone know the Father except the Son, and anyone to whom the Son wills to reveal Him.” Matthew 11:27
“No one has seen God at any time; the only begotten God who is in the bosom of the Father, He has explained Him.” John 1:18 NASB 1995
“No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up on the last day. It is written in the prophets, ‘And they shall all be taught of God.’ Everyone who has heard and learned from the Father, comes to Me. Not that anyone has seen the Father, except the One who is from God; He has seen the Father.” John 6:44-46 NASB 1995
In response to the Christian belief in the Deity of Christ, the Quran likens Jesus to Adam:
Truly, the likeness of Jesus, in God’s sight, is as Adam’s likeness; He created him of dust, then said He unto him, ‘Be,’ and he was. S. 3:59 Arberry

In this post I am going prove that the Islamic scripture itself shows that Christ is exactly like Allah in Allah’s ability and status.
For instance, Jesus creates and gives life in the exact same way that Allah does:
and he shall be a prophet to the people of Israel (saying), that I have come to you, with a sign from God, namely, that I will create for you out of clay (annee akhluqu lakum mina al-teeni) as though it were the form of a bird, and I will blow thereon and it shall become a bird by God’s permission; and I will heal the blind from birth, and lepers; and I will bring the dead to life by God’s permission; and I will tell you what you eat and what ye store up in your houses. Verily, in that is a sign for you if ye be believers. S. 3:49 Palmer
When He shall say: O Jesus! Son of Mary! call to mind my favour upon thee and upon thy mother, when I strengthened thee with the Holy Spirit, that thou shouldest speak to men alike in the cradle, and when grown up; – And when I taught thee the Scripture, and Wisdom, and the Law, and the Evangel: and thou didst create of clay (wa-ith takhluqu mina al-teeni), as it were, the figure of a bird, by my leave, and didst breathe into it, and by my leave it became a bird; and thou didst heal the blind and the leper, by my leave; and when, by my leave, thou didst bring forth the dead; and when I withheld the children of Israel from thee, when thou hadst come to them with clear tokens: and such of them as believed not said, “This is nought but plain sorcery;” S. 5:110 Rodwell
Now contrast this with what it stated in relation to Allah:
And (remember) when you killed a man and fell into dispute among yourselves as to the crime. But Allah brought forth that which you were hiding. So We said: “Strike him (the dead man) with a piece of it (the cow).” Thus Allah brings the dead to life and shows you His Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) so that you may understand. S. 2:72-73 Hilali-Khan
That is because Allah, He is the Truth, and it is He Who gives life to the dead, and it is He Who is Able to do all things. And surely, the Hour is coming, there is no doubt about it, and certainly, Allah will resurrect those who are in the graves. S. 22:6-7 Hilali-Khan
When thy Lord said to the angels, ‘See, I am creating a mortal of a clay (innee khaliqun basharan min teenin). When I have shaped him, and breathed My spirit in him, fall you down, bowing before him!’ Then the angels bowed themselves all together, save Iblis; he waxed proud, and was one of the unbelievers. Said He, ‘Iblis, what prevented thee to bow thyself before that I created with My own hands? Hast thou waxed proud, or art thou of the lofty ones?’ S. 38:71-75 Arberry
Notice just how much Allah and Jesus are alike! Like Allah Jesus gives life to the dead, creates inanimate objects from clay and animates them by his breath.
This shows that Jesus possesses the same life-giving Spirit that Allah does, and can breathe out that Spirit of life into others in the exact same way that Allah does!
The Quran attests and the ahadith confirm that Allah took Jesus physically, bodily to personally dwell with him:
(And remember) when Allah said: O Jesus! Lo! I am gathering thee and causing thee to ascend UNTO ME, and am cleansing thee of those who disbelieve and am setting those who follow thee above those who disbelieve until the Day of Resurrection. Then unto Me ye will (all) return, and I shall judge between you as to that wherein ye used to differ. S. 3:55 Pickthall
But Allah raised him [‘Iesa (Jesus)] up (with his body and soul) UNTO HIMSELF (and he is in the heavens). And Allah is Ever All-Powerful, All-Wise. S. 4:158 Hilali-Khan
The Quran also implies that Christ will be a sign of the last hour, with the ahadith explicitly stating that Jesus will descend physically, bodily to the earth before the end of the age to reign as the righteous Judge of all mankind:
And he [‘Iesa (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary)] shall be a known sign for (the coming of) the Hour (Day of Resurrection) [i.e. ‘Iesa‘s (Jesus) descent on the earth]. Therefore have no doubt concerning it (i.e. the Day of Resurrection). And follow Me (Allah) (i.e. be obedient to Allah and do what He orders you to do, O mankind)! This is the Straight Path (of Islamic Monotheism, leading to Allah and to His Paradise). S. 43:61Hilali-Khan
“… Allah’s saying…
(And he (`Isa) shall be a known sign for (the coming of) the Hour.) The correct view concerning this phrase is that it refers to his descent before the Day of Resurrection, as Allah says…
(And there is none of the People of the Scripture but must believe in him before his death) (4:159). — meaning before the death of `Isa…
(And on the Day of Resurrection, he will be a witness against them) (4:159). This meaning has the support from an alternate recitation of the Ayat… (And he shall be a known sign for (the coming of) the Hour.) means, evidence that the Hour will surely come. Mujahid said…
(And he shall be a sign for (the coming of) the Hour.) means, sign and ‘One of the signs of the Hour will be the appearance of `Isa son of Maryam before the Day of Resurrection.’ Something similar was also narrated from Abu Hurayrah, Ibn `Abbas, `Abu Al-`Aliyah, Abu Malik, `Ikrimah, Al-Hasan, Qatadah, Ad-Dahhak and others. MANY MUTAWATIR HADITHS report that the Messenger of Allah said that `Isa will descend before the Day of Resurrection as A JUST RULER AND FAIR JUDGE…
(Therefore have no doubt concerning it.) means, do not doubt that it will surely come to pass.” (Tafsir Ibn Kathir, Q. 43:61 http://www.alim.org/library/quran/AlQuran-tafsir/TIK/43/57; bold and capital emphasis mine)
The reason why this is a remarkable assertion is because both the Muslim scripture and the traditions attributed to Muhammad teach that Allah is above the throne, which is above the seven heavens and earth:
It is He who created for you all that is in the earth, then He lifted Himself to heaven and levelled them seven heavens; and He has knowledge of everything. S. 2:29 Arberry
Surely your Lord is God, who created the heavens and the earth in six days — then sat Himself upon the Throne, covering the day with the night it pursues urgently — and the sun, and the moon, and the stars subservient, by His command. Verily, His are the creation and the command. Blessed be God, the Lord of all Being. S. 7:54 Arberry
a revelation from Him who created the earth and the high heavens; the All-compassionate sat Himself upon the Throne; to Him belongs all that is in the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, and all that is underneath the soil. S. 20:4-6 Arberry
It is He that created the heavens and the earth in six days then seated Himself upon the Throne. He knows what penetrates into the earth, and what comes forth from it, — what comes down from heaven, and what goes up unto it. He is with you wherever you are; and God sees the things you do. To Him belongs the Kingdom of the heavens and the earth; and unto Him all matters are returned. S. 57:4-5 Arberry
Do you feel secure that He who is in heaven will not cause the earth to swallow you, the while it rocks? Do you feel secure that He who is in heaven will not loose against you a squall of pebbles, then you shall know how My warning is? S. 67:16-17 Arberry
The Book of the Sunnah
It was narrated that ‘Abbas bin ‘Abdul-Mutallib said:
“I was in Batha with a group of people, among them whom was the Messenger of Allah. A cloud passed over him, and he looked at it and said: ‘What do you call this?’ They said: ‘Sahab (a cloud).’ He said: ‘And Muzn (rain cloud).’ They said: ‘And Muzn.’ He said: ‘And ‘Anan (clouds).’ Abu Bakr said: “They said: ‘And ‘Anan.’” He said: ‘How much (distance) do you think there is between you and the heavens?’ They said: ‘We do not know.’ He said: ‘Between you and it is seventy-one, or seventy-two, or seventy-three years, and there is a similar distance between it and the heaven above it (and so on)’ until he counted seven heavens. ‘Then above the seventh heaven there is a sea, between whose top and bottom is a distance like that between one heaven and another. Then above that there are eight (angels in the form of) mountain goats. The distance between their hooves and their knees is like the distance between one heaven and the next. Then on their backs is the Throne, and the distance between the top and the bottom of the Throne is like the distance between one heaven and another. Then Allah is above that, the Blessed and Exalted.”

(1695) Chapter: The Jahmiyyah
Muhammad b. Jubair b. Mut’im said from his father on the authority of his grandfather:
An Arab (a nomadic Arab) came to the Messenger of Allah and said: People suffering distress, the children are hungry, the crops are withered, and the animals are perished, so ask Allah to grant us rain, for we seek you as our intercessor with Allah, and Allah as intercessor with you. The Messenger of Allah said: Woe to you: Do you know what you are saying? Then the Messenger of Allah declared Allah’s glory and he continued declaring His glory till the effect of that was apparent in the faces of his Companions. He then said: Woe to you: Allah is not to be sought as intercessor with anyone. Allah’s state is greater than that. Woe to you! Do you know how great Allah is? His throne is above the heavens thus (indicating with his fingers like a dome over him), and it groans on account of Him as a saddle does because of the rider.
Ibn Bashshar said in his version: Allah is above the throne, and the throne is above the heavens. He then mentioned the rest of the tradition. ‘Abd al-A’la, Ibn al- Muthana and Ibn Bashshar transmitted it from Ya’qub b. ‘Utbah and Jubair b. Muhammad b. Jubair from his father on the authority of his grandfather.
Abu Dawud said: This tradition with the chain of Ahmad b. Sa’ad IS SOUND. It has been approved by the body (of traditionists), which includes Yahya b. Ma’in and ‘Ali b. al-Madani, and a group has transmitted it from Ibn Ishaq, as Ahmad also said. And so far as I have been informed ‘Abd al-A’la, Ibn al-Muthanna, and Ibn Bashshar had heard from the same copy (of the collection of tradition).

Therefore, since Jesus is physically with Allah, and since Allah is above his throne, this means that Jesus has been physically dwelling above the entire creation for nearly two thousand years!
And yet the only way that Christ could share in Allah’s exalted status over all creation is if he himself is truly divine, and therefore equal with Allah. Otherwise, Allah would be guilty of committing the unforgiveable sin of shirk by causing a creature to share in his dominion over the heavens and earth, in direct contradiction to the plain teaching of his supposed revelation:
And say: Praise be to Allah, Who hath not taken unto Himself a son, and Who hath no partner in the Sovereignty, nor hath He any protecting friend through dependence. And magnify Him with all magnificence. S. 17:111 Pickthall
Say: Allah is Best Aware how long they tarried. His is the Invisible of the heavens and the earth. How clear of sight is He and keen of hearing! They have no protecting friend beside Him, and He maketh none to share in His government. S. 18:26 Pickthall
He unto Whom belongeth the Sovereignty of the heavens and the earth, He hath chosen no son nor hath He any partner in the Sovereignty. He hath created everything and hath meted out for it a measure. S. 25:2 Pickthall
Therefore, the Quran itself bears witness that Jesus is unlike Adam but exactly like Allah since shares in Allah’s ability to create and give life, and in his exalted position over all creation.
