The White Man’s Prophet: Dr. Morey Vindicated Again

In this post I am going to show how the Muslim attack against the late Christian apologist and theologian Dr. Robert A. Morey is unfounded, and that it is the Muslims who have lied. But first I need to establish the very premise of Morey, which the Muslim slander did not address, namely, that Muhammad was a white man contrary to the assertions of the Nation of Islam.


The hadiths teach that Muhammad was neither white nor an African, but a white Arab:

Narrated Anas bin Malik:

While we were sitting with the Prophet in the mosque, a man came riding on a camel. He made his camel kneel down in the mosque, tied its foreleg and then said: “Who amongst you is Muhammad?” At that time the Prophet was sitting amongst us (his companions) leaning on his arm. We replied, “This white man reclining on his arm.”… (Sahih al-Bukhari, Volume 1, Book 3, Number 63

Narrated ‘Abdullah bin Malik bin Buhaina:

Whenever the Prophet used to offer prayer he used to keep arms away (from the body) so that the whiteness of his armpits was visible. (Sahih al-Bukhari, Volume 1, Book 12, Number 771

Narrated Isma’il bin Abi Khalid:

I heard Abii Juhaifa saying, “I saw the Prophet, and Al-Hasan bin ‘Ali resembled him.” I said to Abu- Juhaifa, “Describe him for me.” He said, “He was white and his beard was black with some white hair. He promised to give us 13 young she-camels, but he expired before we could get them.” (Sahih al-Bukhari, Volume 4, Book 56, Number 744

And not only was Muhammad a white man, he was also a white slave owner of blacks who owned and sold black slaves!

Narrated ‘Umar:

I came and behold, Allah’s Apostle was staying on a Mashroba (attic room) and a black slave of Allah’s Apostle was at the top if its stairs. I said to him, “(Tell the Prophet) that here is ‘Umar bin Al-Khattab (asking for permission to enter).” Then he admitted me… (Sahih al-Bukhari, Volume 9, Book 91, Number 368

Narrated Anas bin Malik:

Allah’s Apostle was on a journey and he had a black slave called Anjasha, and he was driving the camels (very fast, and there were women riding on those camels). Allah’s Apostle said, “Waihaka (May Allah be merciful to you), O Anjasha! Drive slowly (the camels) with the glass vessels (women)!” (Sahih al-Bukhari, Volume 7, Book 73, Number 182

Narrated Jabir ibn Abdullah:

There came a slave and pledged allegiance to Allah’s Apostle on migration; he (the Prophet) did not know that he was a slave. Then there came his master and demanded him back, whereupon Allah’s Apostle said: Sell him to me. And he bought him for two black slaves, and he did not afterwards take allegiance from anyone until he had asked him whether he was a slave (or a free man). (Sahih Muslim, Book 10, Number 3901

Muhammad buys a slave for the price of two black slaves! Now the question one should ask is, why didn’t Muhammad simply give the owner the value in money to emancipate his slave? And does this mean that Muhammad viewed the value of black slaves as less than that of a non-black one, so that two black slaves equals the value of a non-black one in his eyes?

Yahya related to me from Malik from Thawr ibn Zayd ad-Dili from Abu’l-Ghayth Salim, the mawla of ibn Muti that Abu Hurayra said, “We went out with the Messenger of Allah in the year of Khaybar. We did not capture any gold or silver except for personal effects, clothes, and baggage. Rifaa ibn Zayd presented a black slave boy to the Messenger of Allah whose name was Midam. The Messenger of Allah made for Wadi’l-Qura, and when he arrived there, Midam was unsaddling the camel of the Messenger of Allah when a stray arrow struck and killed him. The people said, ‘Good luck to him! The Garden!’ The Messenger of Allah said, ‘No! By He in whose hand my self is! The cloak which he took from the spoils on the Day of Khaybar before they were distributed will blaze with fire on him.’ When the people heard that, a man brought a sandal-strap or two sandal-straps to the Messenger of Allah. The Messenger of Allah said, ‘A sandal-strap or two sandal-straps of fire!’” (Malik’s Muwatta, Book 21, Number 21.13.25

Notice that Muhammad was given a black slave boy who immediately starts slaving for him.


Narrated ‘Urwa on the authority of ‘Aisha:

On the days of Mina, (11th, 12th, and 13th of Dhul-Hijjah) Abu Bakr came to her while two young girls were beating the tambourine and the Prophet was lying covered with his clothes. Abu Bakr scolded them and the Prophet uncovered his face and said to Abu Bakr, “Leave them, for these days are the days of ‘Id and the days of Mina.” ‘Aisha further said, “Once the Prophet was screening me and I was watching the display of black slaves in the Mosque and (‘Umar) scolded them. The Prophet said, ‘Leave them. O Bani Arfida! (carry on), you are safe (protected)’.” (Sahih al-Bukhari, Volume 2, Book 15, Number 103

Notice how during an Islamic festival the Muslims start parading a group of black slaves in the presence of Muhammad without a word of rebuke. Moreover, the black slaves actually are called Sudan (sud is black).

It gets even worse since there are some hadiths that link black skin with judgment and punishment:

Abu Darda’ reported God’s messenger as saying, “God created Adam when He created him and struck his right shoulder and brought forth his offspring white like small ants. And he struck his left shoulder and brought forth his offspring BLACK as though they were charcoal. Then He said to the party on his right said, ‘To paradise, and I do not care’, and He said to the party in his left shoulder ‘To hell, and I do not care’.”

Ahmad transmitted it.

Narrated AbudDarda’
Allah’s Messenger (peace be upon him) said: Allah created Adam when He had to create him and He struck his right shoulder and there emitted from it white offspring as if they were white ants. He struck his left shoulder and there emitted from it THE BLACK OFFSPRINGS as if they were charcoal. He then said (to those who had been emitted) from the right (shoulder): For Paradise and I do not mind. Then He said to those (who had been emitted) from his left shoulder: They are for Hell and I do not mind.

Evidently, these reports are based on the Quran itself which emphatically state that Allah will condemn all those with black faces to hell!

On the day when some faces shall be white, and some faces shall be black. As for those whose faces will be black, it will be said to them: `Did you disbelieve after believing? Taste then the punishment because you disbelieved.’ S. 3:106 Sher Ali

And on the Day of Resurrection you will see those who lied against Allah (i.e. attributed to Him sons, partners, etc.) their faces will be black. Is there not in Hell an abode for the arrogant ones? S. 39:60 Hilali-Khan

As if this weren’t disgusting enough, Muslim jurists command that any person claiming that Muhammad was black must be put to death!

Ahmad ibn Abi Sulayman, the companion of Sahnun, said, “Anyone who says that the Prophet was black SHOULD BE KILLED.” (Muhammad Messenger of Allah (Ash-Shifa of Qadi ‘Iyad), Qadi ‘Iyad Musa al-Yahsubi, translated by Aisha Abdarrahman Bewley [Madinah Press, Inverness, Scotland, U.K. 1991; third reprint, paperback], p. 375; capital emphasis mine)

Ahmad ibn Abi Sulayman, Sahnun’s companion, said that whoever says that the Prophet was black IS KILLED. The Prophet was not black. (Ibid., p. 387; capital emphasis mine)

So much for Islam being the religion of the black man whose god doesn’t discriminate on the basis of race or color.


Dr. Morey came under attack for a citation found in his book Islamic Invasion, in the section dealing with the hadith evidence that Muhammad was a white man. Muslim polemicists accused him of deliberately misquoting a specific narration that described the skin color of a specific bodypart of Muhammad.

I will let infamous dawagandist Shabir Ally explain:

“… Yet Dr. Morey needs not only to read, but to read carefully. Morey quoted a hadith from the book Sahih al-Bukhari, vol.1, no.367, to say that Anas saw the whiteness of the penis of Allaah’s prophet (Morey Invasion, p.182).

“Yet the hadith says not ‘penis’ but ‘thigh’. That hadith mentions thigh three times, and penis not even once. The caption of that hadith is also:

‘What is said about the thigh.’

“How did Morey manage to make such a blatant mistake? And with what intention? I have found in Morey’s writing several examples of this sort where his zeal for attacking Islam impairs his vision.” (Shabir Ally, Reply to Robert Morey’s Source of Islam Theories)


“… Dr. Morey wanted to prove that the prophet was described as being white. This would be valid evidence against the groups that promote the idea that whiteness is devilish. The point is not difficult to prove, and Muslims do not dispute the authentic hadiths which bear the meaning that the prophet had white complexion. However, Dr. Morey in trying to prove this did make a glaring error in his reference to a certain hadith in Saheeh Bukhari. This error he is not willing to take the credit for.

“Since this an ongoing contention, let me set the record straight. Whereas the hadith in Bukhari said that someone saw the whiteness of the prophet’s thigh, Dr. Morey had written that the person saw the whiteness of the prophet’s penis. During my debate with Dr. Morey I pointed to this mistake as a further example of Dr. Morey’s inaccurate manner of making quotations. Dr. Morey, however, resisted my correction. He insisted that the hadith said exactly what he wrote. He even motioned to one of his informers who sat in the audience, an Arabic-speaking Christian, who promptly stood up and testified that he had ‘checked it this morning.’ Thus Dr. Morey established that both in the original Arabic and in the English translation the text said what he quoted and not what I claimed. This made it necessary for me to use the transparency projection system to show the audience a page from the actual book and settle the issue. The page showed that both in the original Arabic and in the English translation the text said ‘thigh’ and not ‘penis.’

“As it turns out, however, Dr. Morey had been using an earlier edition of the translation which due to a typographical error had the word “thing” instead of “thigh” in the English translation. Not knowing the Arabic, Dr. Morey did not detect the mistake, and used it as a basis for further substituting the word ‘penis’ for ‘thing.’ Thus in his book The Islamic Invasion Dr. Morey wrote that Anas ‘saw the whiteness of the penis of Allah’s Prophet.’ Of course, Dr. Morey is not to blame for the misprint in the translation he was working with. However, it is clear that he is substituted one word for another and still kept the quotations marks to disguise the substitution. This or course is not right. Quotation marks should only surround actual quoted words. Paraphrases should be identified as one’s own words. Dr. Morey needs to clean up his act.” (Ally, Debates with Robert Morey)


With the charge stated I will now present the context of Morey’s quotation. But first, here is the hadith in question:

Narrated ‘Abdul ‘Aziz:

Anas said, ‘When Allah’s Apostle invaded Khaibar, we offered the Fajr prayer there yearly in the morning) when it was still dark. The Prophet rode and Abu Talha rode too and I was riding behind Abu Talha. The Prophet passed through the lane of Khaibar quickly and my knee was touching the thigh of the Prophet. He uncovered his thigh and I saw the whiteness of the thigh of the Prophet. When he entered the town, he said, ‘Allahu Akbar! Khaibar is ruined. Whenever we approach near a (hostile) nation (to fight) then evil will be the morning of those who have been warned.’ He repeated this thrice. The people came out for their jobs and some of them said, ‘Muhammad (has come).’ (Some of our companions added, “With his army.”) We conquered Khaibar, took the captives, and the booty was collected. Dihya came and said, ‘O Allah’s Prophet! Give me a slave girl from the captives.’ The Prophet said, ‘Go and take any slave girl.’ He took Safiya bint Huyai. A man came to the Prophet and said, ‘O Allah’s Apostles! You gave Safiya bint Huyai to Dihya and she is the chief mistress of the tribes of Quraiza and An-Nadir and she befits none but you.’ So the Prophet said, ‘Bring him along with her.’ So Dihya came with her and when the Prophet saw her, he said to Dihya, ‘Take any slave girl other than her from the captives.’ Anas added: The Prophet then manumitted her and married her.” Thabit asked Anas, “O Abu Hamza! What did the Prophet pay her (as Mahr)?” He said, “Her self was her Mahr for he manumitted her and then married her.” Anas added, “While on the way, Um Sulaim dressed her for marriage (ceremony) and at night she sent her as a bride to the Prophet. So the Prophet was a bridegroom and he said, ‘Whoever has anything (food) should bring it.’ He spread out a leather sheet (for the food) and some brought dates and others cooking butter. (I think he (Anas) mentioned As-SawTq). So they prepared a dish of Hais (a kind of meal). And that was Walrma (the marriage banquet) of Allah’s Apostle. (Sahih al-Bukhari, Volume 1, Book 8, Number 367

And here’s what Morey wrote:

A White Man

First, as to his race, the Hadith clearly states that Muhammad was a white man. This is stated so many times in so many ways that it is quite obvious that the authors of the Hadith were deeply concerned less someone think that Muhammad was a black man. Hence the emphasis on the whiteness of Muhammad.

This will come as quite a shock to the “Black Muslims” who have claimed that “Islam is a black man’s religion” because “Muhammad was a black man.”

Since Muhammad was a white man, then the Nation of Islam is a “white man’s religion.”

Muhammad, a White Devil?

In numerous radio debates with Black Muslims, they have expressed great surprise to learn that the Hadith clearly states that Muhammad was a white man. But since they pay lip service to the inspiration of the Hadith, in the end, they had to submit to its authority.

Indeed, if “All white men are devils” as Elijah Muhammad and Louis Farrakhan have claimed, then Muhammad as well as Wallace Fard was a white devil!

Jesus, a White Devil?

The Hadith even claims that Muhammad saw Jesus in a dream and that Jesus was a white man with straight hair (vol. 9, Hadith no. 242).

The Black Muslims will not be happy with this Hadith either. This means that Jesus was a white devil too!

The Hadithic Evidence

In vol. 1, Hadith no. 63, we read,

While we were sitting with the Prophet in the Mosque, a man came riding on a camel. He made his camel kneel down in the Mosque, tied its foreleg and then said, “Who amongst you is Muhammad?” At that time the Prophet was sitting amongst us [his companions] leaning on his arm. We replied, “This white man reclining on his arm.” The man then addressed him, “O Son of ’Abdul Muttalib.”

The Hadith in vol. 2, no. 122, refers to Muhammad as “a white person.” And in vol. 2, no. 141, we are told that when Muhammad raised his arms, “the whiteness of his armpits became visible.”

If the above passages are not clear enough, we are later told in vol. 1, no. 367 that Anas “saw the whiteness of the penis of Allah’s Prophet.” (Morey, Islamic Invasion: Confronting the World’s Fastest Growing Religion [Christian Scholars Press, Revised and expanded edition 1992], pp. 209-211)

As the readers can see, Morey wasn’t focusing on the color of Muhammad’s penis. Rather his focus was to refute the assertion of the black Muslims of the nation of Islam that Muhammad was a black man. Morey’s purpose was to expose the lie that Islam is the true religion of the black man in contrast to Christianity, which is supposedly the white man’s religion.


Now here’s what these Muslim polemicists failed to disclose to their readers and audience.

As any student or scholar of Islam knows, the sahih collection of al-Bukhari has subheadings and narrations which appear before the ahadith in question. In this particular narrative, al-Bukhari included a report attributed to Muhammad that thigh is actually a private part!

XI: What is said about the thigh

It is related from Ibn ‘Abbas, Jarhad and Muhammad ibn Jahsh from the Prophet, “The thigh IS ONE OF THE PRIVATE PARTS.” Anas said, “The Prophet uncovered his thigh.” The hadith of Anas is stronger, but the hadith of Jarhad is more complete in order to resolve the disagreement of the scholars. Abu Musa said, “The Prophet covered his knees when ‘Uthman entered.” Zayd ibn Thabit said, “Allah sent down revelation on His Messenger while his thigh was resting on my thigh and it became so heavy that I was afraid that it would bruise my thigh.”

The people came out for their jobs and said, ‘Muhammad!’”

‘Abdu’l-‘Aziz said, “Some of our companions said, ‘and the army.”

Anas said, “We took it by force and the captives were rounded up. Dihya came and said, ‘Prophet of Allah! Give me a slavegirl from the captives.’ He said, ‘Go and take a slavegirl.’ He took Safiyya bint Huyayy. A man came to the Prophet and said, ‘Prophet of Allah, you have given Dihya Safiyya bint Huyayy, the lady of Qurayza and an-Nadir. She is suitable for none but you.’ He said, ‘Tell him to bring her.’ He brought her and when the Prophet looked at her, he said, ‘Take a slavegirl from the captives other than this one.’ The Prophet set her free and married her.”

Thabit said to him, “O Abu Hamza, what was her bride-price?” He said, “Herself He set her free and married her. When they were on the way back, Umm Sulaym decked her out for him and sent her to him as a bride in the night. So the Prophet got up in the morning as a bridegroom and said, ‘If anyone has anything, he should bring it.’ He spread out a leather mat and one man brought dates while someone else brought ghee – I think that he also mentioned sawiq (mash from wheat or barley) – They made hays and that was the wedding feast of the Messenger of Allah.” (Aisha Bewley, The Sahih Collection of al-BukhariChapter 8: Book of Prayer; bold and capitalize emphasis mine)

Since Muhammad himself stated that the thigh is one of the private parts, it only makes sense that the term would come to be used as a euphemism for the male sexual organ. This helps us see why the particular edition of al-Bukhari used by Morey translated the Arabic word as “thing”, as opposed to “thigh”. I.e., the translator apparently was aware that thigh here referred to Muhammad’s sexual organ, that the man actual saw the whiteness of Muhammad’s penis when Muhammad’s waist sheet shifted.

Therefore, Morey once again stands vindicated and was absolutely correct to quote the narration as saying that Anas saw “the whiteness of the penis of Muhammad,” since it is apparent that the word thigh in this particular context is being used in respect to Muhammad’s male organ. It is actually the Muhammadan polemicists who were being deceptive in their attack since they obviously wanted to slander Morey’s character for the express purpose of preventing their fellow Muhammadans from taking his claims seriously.

And yet ironically, in their slanderous criticisms these Muhammadans have provided further evidence of the true source of their beliefs. Folks like Ally are simply highlighting the fact that Islam is truly a wickedly satanic religion which causes its followers to lie, deceive, connive and/or murder anyone who would dare question its truth claims.

Such Muhammadan traits and tactics make sense in light of the fact that their prophet Muhammad was inspired of the Devil, whom the Holy Bible states is a murder and the father of all lies:

““Beware of false prophets who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. You will know them by their fruit. Do men gather grapes from thorns, or figs from thistles? Even so, every good tree bears good fruit. But a corrupt tree bears evil fruit. A good tree cannot bear evil fruit, nor can a corrupt tree bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Therefore, by their fruit you will know them.” Matthew 7:15-20 Modern English Version (MEV)

“You are of your father the devil, and you want to do the desires of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks from his own nature, for he is a liar and the father of lies.” John 8:44 MEV

“I say then, walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh. These are in opposition to one another, so that you may not do the things that you please. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. Now the works of the flesh are revealed, which are these: adultery, sexual immorality, impurity, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, strife, jealousy, rage, selfishness, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, carousing, and the like. I warn you, as I previously warned you, that those who do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, and self-control; against such there is no law. Those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and lusts. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Let us not be conceited, provoking one another and envying one another.” MEV

Whoever practices sin is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was revealed, that He might destroy the works of the devil. Whoever has been born of God does not practice sin, for His seed remains in him. And he cannot keep on sinning, because he has been born of God. In this the children of God and the children of the devil are revealed: Whoever does not live in righteousness is not of God, nor is the one who does not love his brother. For this is the message that you heard from the beginning: We should love one another, not like Cain, who was of the wicked one and murdered his brother. And why did he murder him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother’s works were righteous. Do not marvel, my brothers, if the world hates you. We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love the brothers. Whoever does not love his brother remains in death. Whoever hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life remaining in him.” 1 John 3:8-15 MEV

“But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the abominable, the murderers, the sexually immoral, the sorcerers, the idolaters, and all liars shall have their portion in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone. This is the second death.” Revelation 21:8 MEV

“Outside are dogs and sorcerers and the sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters and everyone who loves and practices a lie.” Revelation 22:15 MEV

This why the fruits exhibited by Muhammad and all those who truly follow him, like Ally, are so rotten and evil.

We therefore pray that Jesus Christ, the risen Lord of glory and the Father’s unique beloved Son, would send forth the sovereign Spirit of the Almighty God to lead these Muslims out of the darkness of their false religion and into his glorious light.

Even though it’s too late for Muhammad who died under the wrath of his God and Judge, Jesus Christ, there’s still hope for all those Muslims that are still alive on the earth to turn to the living Christ for their salvation.
